An apartment, A house, and another House

So we said good-bye to our home of almost 3 years! 2years and 10 months in our little two-bedroom apartment! It was a little emotional for me; I may just say it was pregnancy emotions ;). That little apartment saw our first and second anniversary, the birth of our little girl, as well as her first and second birthday. Lots of memories and some other things I will miss about our apartment is the wonderful “neighborhood” there was. We had lots of wonderful people around us, I will miss the sweet smell of the little plums on the warm fall days and the seeing the cows and horses just down the road when we went for walks. I don’t think we could have asked for a better first apartment.

For now though here we are in out temporary housing. Our bishop at church was kind enough to find a friend of his to rent us this place. It’s an older house but it has plenty of room.  Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a laundry room, and garage. The kitchen has plenty of space not that we are using a whole lot of it as we are trying to stay mostly packed except what we need. It’s odd living out of a suitcase and sleeping on an air mattress but when you almost think you’re not going to have anywhere to live, a roof over your head is an amazing blessing. For that matter a roof over your head and food to eat is just a blessing in general! To know that the snow or rain won’t fall on your head that you can lock your doors and be safe and sound and that your belly will be full. Plus the park is only two blocks away! So on the nice days Samantha loves going to the park!

As for another house… we are waiting on our house. It is moving along slowly but surely. The fire has really thrown a monkey wrench in our plans but as always the Lord works things out better than we could imagine, if we just trust Him! We thought we could be in by the end of September but that turned into the end of October and now we are looking at the end of November! But like I said the Lord is watching out for us. Due to the fire we are getting 5 new windows throughout the house, some of which were old drafty windows from 1950! We are getting beautiful rustic maple cabinets in the kitchen and we got to choose our own paint, carpet and flooring, for the kitchen. So this has been and currently is a crazy process but in the end it will all be a wonderful blessing! Plus the asbestos that was hanging out in the living room is exiting!!! So all in all I’m sure it will be wonderful inside when it gets done!

Wonderful Moments...

Just a few moments ago I was sitting on the floor in the embrace of my husband with our sweet little girl on my lap and given a huge bear hug... I love to hear the giggle of that little girl and see her bright smile and my husbands gentle face pulled into a grin. I love those moments where you just have to smile and can be content :) What a beautiful feeling!!!

Another such is when those little fingers are wrapped securely around one of yours. I love to rub my thumb over those little fingers, so small. It all goes by so fast! In less than a week my sweet little girl will be TWO!!! Wow I almost typed one but she has a year more experience than that. Oh how the years pass! It is not necessarily the amount we put into our lives but the quality of what we put in there!!!

So here are some pictures of what we have been up to lately...

Helping cook breakfast! She loves to stir :)

Borrowing dad's apron and showing off her whisk.

Got a little mess but she LOVES to help!

CUTE Pj's from Grandma Penny!!! They fit great!

She loves helping. It was "her turn" to use the vacuum.

More helping...

Our little mommy decided her elephant needed a diaper change :)

My funny, silly, smart little girl

I almost wrote baby... not a baby anymore. She is growing every day and seems to be far taller than I remember her being. She amazes me how much she grows and learns and how much she UNDERSTANDS!!!!

Last week we were drawing with our sidewalk chalk and I drew a sun and was talking about sunshine we then went walking as she is prone to do and we came to a sunflower. She looked at me and said " flower, flower" I told her she could go and see it and touch it gently so she did and she looked up at me and said " Sunshine flower :) ! " Oh my sweet smart silly girl how I love her :)

Her latest word or response when you ask her if she wants something " sure" Ha ha What? how funny.

Dan has expalined to her that somethings are bad to do so if she gets punished she tells us through and upset  expression "Bad do, bad do" He wanted her to understand that she is not bad but that somethings she does is not good.

Speaking of the getting bigger she can now open both the dishwasher and all the closet doors in our apartment... joy. Ah well part of life I suppose, it stops for no one.

And her understanding well... the house we are buy had some issues and she has heard as talking about it and while we were on skype with my dad she informed him "house bad" she had put together in her head that there was something wrong "bad  house" What an amazing little girl!!!

Now for some photos :)
Think she might be thirsty...

Elephant anyone?!

mmm Lime... want a bite?

Yep that's my lime...

Helping dad vacuum the couch...

Doing a good job!

I got it!

Love that face...

Happy Girl :)

I need to get a video of her laugh, best sound ever!

Another outside adventure! A Praying Mantis!!!

Monkey thought he was pretty cool.

She talked to him and kept asking "hand? hand?"

Mom decided to help him out, he thought he was going to climb the building...

His new home... can you find him :) ?

"O, O, O" Smart girl

This one she said "W!"
It is amazing how fast time passes. Growing up you heard all the "old people" tell you Oh enjoy life it goes by so fast. And being in middle school or high school you smile and nod and say uh huh but suddenly you have children and realize that time doesn't slow down and there is no getting i back so apparently I'm now an "old person" because I say Enjoy life because it DOES go by so fast!!!
